Das erste Krypto-Investment
Our following example shows how Moritz, the founder and idea generator of the WAVEALERT platform, successfully operated on the young crypto market in 2017: In May, he bought Ethereum for 71 euros for the first time. One month later, the value of the digital currency had already risen to 300 euros and remained at this level until November 2017. In December, the price began to climb again, enabling Moritz to sell his Ethereum coins for 580 euros at the end of the year and realize a considerable profit.
Thanks to the alarm function (change in price +/- 20%) in WAVEALERT, he paid no attention to his investment between June and November, as the price moved sideways. At the beginning of December, his alarm informed him that the share price had risen by over 20 percent. Moritz then informed himself intensively about the current development status of the blockchain project and found out that there was actually no substantial reason for the Ethereum hype.
He concluded that the price rally was likely to be short-lived. The trembling began, because was it already the right time to exit? Moritz was torn between getting out and accepting FOMO (fear of missing out) or staying invested. The fear of losing most of his profits when the price crashed ultimately prevailed and so he sold his coins at the end of December with a considerable 800 percent increase in value.
As it turned out, it was a good decision not to listen to "greed": A month later there was a further increase to 1,100 euros, but by February the value had already fallen back to 300 euros, where the price remained stuck until the next "bull run " six months later. Lucky for Moritz: "Of course, I had no idea that the first crypto rally would start shortly after I joined. Luckily, I already had a first version of WAVEALERT up and running, which I could use to define my own alerts and think about my exit in good time".
The platform enabled Moritz not to have to actively manage his Ethereum investment for a long time. When the rise occurred, he was alerted and was able to get an overview and assess the situation. With success: two months later it would have been too late.
